Austin joins Capstone after spending most of her professional career in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Capstone, Austin was a Clinical Research Project Manager for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC. As a project manager, she was responsible for implementing research procedures and monitoring operations for a study comparing the effectiveness of two treatment plans for stroke survivors. Austin also previously served as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Department of Neurology, where she worked directly with patients who had suffered from intracerebral hemorrhages (brain bleeds), to improve imaging techniques for early detection, diagnosis, and care.
While moving from clinical research to personal finance may seem unusual, Austin’s passion for both stems from a rather important, yet simple goal - helping others. Austin looks forward to using her research experience to help the Capstone team continue to make advances in holistic, goal-based client care.
Outside the office, Austin enjoys spending time with her husband, Robert, and their 110lb Newfoundland, Ripley. She is also an avid runner and reader. As a Florida native, her favorite place to get lost in a book is the beach.
